Researchers discovered that bonnethead sharks feed on seagrass along with their traditional carnivorous diets of crustaceans and small fish. It’s a mystery why the bonnetheads eat plants but the answers may lie in their digestive system. If they’re getting enough nutritional value from the grass, they might actually be omnivores.
